Advice to Freshmen from our Graduates
Every year we ask our grads to share words of wisdom with coming Freshmen- " if knew then what I know now, I would.." Here are some of the responses:
1. Throughout college you will face trials, tribulations, and many temptations but always remember who you are as a person. Never lose your faith in GOD because he works in mysterious ways. He may not be there when you want HIM to be he will AlWAYS be on time. Jocelynn Townes.
2. I would have started big assignments when they were assigned- doing work on them every day or two, instead of waiting until two weeks before its due. Joel A ( or a few days before due).
3. I would have partied less, it's a waste of time and enegery. Instead I would have gotten more involved in volunteer opprtunities more to make a real difference and memories that last.
4. I would have a plan to be and become a better person than when I arrived. Getting involved with service and campus ministry sooner would have helped that goal more. -Aldo B
5. I would have made my grades more priority, be healthier, and managed my time better. Alicia C
6. I would have started attending weekly Bible Study sooner. I waited too long to get spirtitually informed. The last two years of True North B/S has helped me so much. Emie C
7. I would have taken the opportunity to study abroad. You will never ne this free again to have adventures.
8. Step out of your comfort zone and start being significant now. We waste a lot of time that first year on the wrong things-things that don't matter or is self-destructive out of fear and conforming to others. Set the trends-be more real.
